Audio-Technica, known for its personal audio technology has announced two new headphones, the ATH-M50xIB professional monitoring headphones and the ATH-M50xBT2IB wireless headphones. In keeping with its tradition of creating limited edition colours, the new releases are available in Ice Blue as chosen by its fans and consumers from round the globe.

The ATH-M50 is already one of the more critically acclaimed models of Audio-Technica’s M-Series Range. The new ATH-M50xIB headphones follow suit and are as adept as their predecessor. It has 45mm large aperture drivers, 90° swivelling ear cups that allow easy and accessible one-ear monitoring. Its padded headband and ear pads provide comfort for extended use and it comes with three detachable cables.

The ATH-M50xBT2 headphones on the other hand, utilise Bluetooth wireless technology and offer the same studio-quality sound in a wireless manner. They can be used for up to 50 hours continuously when on full charge and up to 3 hours after a 10-minute rapid charge which can be done via the USB-C connection. In addition to the 45mm large aperture drivers, they are also equipped with amplifiers that ensure audio clarity even through an extended frequency range.

It also has a low latency mode and premium audio-grade components like an AK4331 advanced audio DAC (Digital to Analog Converter), dual mics and beamforming technology that ensures good quality audio. Its sidetone circuit allows users to hear their own voice in the headphones when making calls on most smartphones. It has an over-ear design which isolates the sound in loud environments. Its professional grade ear pad and headband material provide durability and comfort.

The headphones have also been built for convenience with a microphone that can be muted with a simple press of a button, multipoint pairing function and buttons built into the ear cup for easy control with access to voice assistants (Amazon Alexa Built-in, Google Assistant, Siri). With Google Fast Pair users can efficiently pair their headphones with an Android smartphone or any other device. It is also compatible with both LDAC (Lossless Digital Audio Codec) as well as AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) and includes a 1.2m cable for optional wired connection.

The new ATH-M50xIB and ATH-M50xBT2 are both available online for £145.00 and £169.99 respectively.
